"Gemini Awards Day" December 13, 2004
| WHEREAS: |
the Gemini Awards are recognized within the national and international television industry as one of the most prominent and prestigious accolades to be bestowed on an individual. Each year, this important and popular event attracts visitors and viewers from across Canada and focuses attention on the City of Toronto. |
|
The Gemini Awards celebrate and recognize creative and talented artists for their excellence in all areas of Canadian television during the past year, including special awards for unique causes and individual contributions. All the awards truly acknowledge the high level of professionalism and quality that our many deserving Canadians demonstrate on a daily basis. |
|
As the third largest entertainment centre in North America, Toronto provides the television industry with an entire range of facilities from mass pre-production to post-production. With each passing year, the output, input and the quality constantly increases and grows even stronger. |
| NOW, |
| THEREFORE: |
I, Mayor David Miller, on behalf of Toronto City Council, do hereby proclaim December 13, 2004 as "Gemini Awards Day" and congratulate the Academy of Cinema & Television and everyone involved in this much-anticipated and exciting event. |
[Signed Mayor David Miller]
