 "Hadassah-WIZO Bazaar Day" October 27, 2004
| WHEREAS: |
this year marks the milestone 80th Ruby Jubilee of the Toronto Hadassah-WIZO Bazaar. |
|
During the past eighty years, this popular and much-anticipated Toronto tradition has offered thousands of shoppers and bargain hunters an incredible selection of new and slightly used merchandise at prices unheard of anywhere else in Toronto, and has earned it the reputation as the "World's Largest One-Day Sale". |
|
The Bazaar is not just an unforgettable shopping experience, it also serves as a major fund-raising event for the Hadassah-WIZO Organization of Canada with proceeds supporting health, social welfare and education programs. |
|
This volunteer organization of women, with membership locations in forty-three Canadian cities, has helped make a difference and enriched the quality in the lives of many individuals and families in our Jewish community. |
| NOW, |
| THEREFORE: |
I, Mayor David Miller on behalf of the residents of Toronto do hereby proclaim October 27, 2004 as "Hadassah-WIZO Bazaar Day" and congratulate everyone involved with this great organization - have an enjoyable and memorable Jubilee celebration. To all those attending the bazaar I wish you a successful shopping spree. |
[Signed Mayor David Miller]
