| WHEREAS: |
the Toronto International Film Festival is recognized as one of the top festivals in the world and attracts visitors and fans from around the globe in celebration of past, present and future accomplishments of international and Canadian filmmaking. |

Toronto is the hub for film production in Canada where actors, writers, directors and producers, through films, direct, inspire and cultivate an understanding and appreciation of the world and its various customs and cultures. |
|
The Festival previews the upcoming season, screens the best of international cinema and is an excellent venue for features, documentaries, short and experimental films and also produces unique and innovative programs for an ever-growing and appreciative audience. |
|
Toronto provides the film industry with an entire range of facilities from pre-production to post-production. The film industry's economic impact on our city is phenomenal and generates thousands of jobs and injects more than $1.5 billion into our economy annually. |
