"Magazine Week"
June 6 - 12, 2004
| WHEREAS: |
the Canadian magazine industry congregates in Toronto during this week for Magazines University, Canada's premiere annual publishing event and conference, the only event of its kind in Canada, at Toronto's beautiful and historic Old Mill Inn; and
|
| WHEREAS: |
now in its 13th year, Magazines University attracts thousands of participants from across the country, representing both consumer and trade magazines; and
|
| WHEREAS: |
for seven days the City of Toronto welcomes hundreds of tourists who celebrate the rich cultural heritage delivered through Canada's more than 2,000 magazines, and to honour editors, writers, publishers and others who enrich the lives of Toronto's residents through Canadian magazines.

| THEREFORE: |
I, Mayor David Miller, on behalf of Toronto City Council, do hereby proclaim June 6 - 12, 2004 as "Magazine Week" in Toronto, and encourage everyone to celebrate the exciting and creative world of Canada's magazines. |
