Proclamation
"Museum Month"

May 2004

WHEREAS: throughout our community many museums, art galleries, cultural and heritage sites reflect our local history and culture to the community and visitors to our city; and
WHEREAS: Toronto is committed to increasing public awareness of Ontario's heritage as it is interpreted through museums in our city and throughout the province; and
WHEREAS: Toronto's museums, art galleries, cultural and heritage sites, jointly with the Ontario Museum Association, will celebrate the importance of the contribution these institutions make to our social and cultural development.
THEREFORE: I, Mayor David Miller, on behalf of Toronto City Council, do hereby proclaim May 2004 as "Museum Month" in the City of Toronto, and encourage all residents to visit their local cultural institutions to experience the vibrant and diverse history that is shaping our community.
