"Neighbours' Night Out"
June 15, 2004
| WHEREAS: |
Toronto is a City of communities. It is the energy and enthusiasm of people who live in these communities and take pride in their neighbourhoods, that make our City a lively and vibrant place to live, work and play; and
|
| WHEREAS: |
this 20th annual Neighbours' Night Out is an opportunity for neighbours and community groups to have a fun night, get to know each other better and build community spirit; and
|
| WHEREAS: |
the people of Toronto are encouraged to come out to meet and greet their neighbours and others in the community to help make our City a more friendly and safer place for everyone; and
|
| WHEREAS: |
by banding together in the spirit of celebration and fun, the people of our great City can strengthen their sense of community, help discourage crime and contribute to the safety of their neighbourhoods.

| NOW, |
| THEREFORE: |
I, Mayor David Miller, on behalf of Toronto City Council, do hereby proclaim June 15, 2004 as "Neighbours' Night Out", and encourage all residents of Toronto to participate in this worthwhile community event. |
