March 2004
| WHEREAS: |
the Canadian Red Cross Society has been engaged in preventing and alleviating human suffering across Canada and around the world; and |
| WHEREAS: |
the Canadian Red Cross Society has helped thousands of people through its Disaster Relief and Community Services, including residents of Toronto; and |
| WHEREAS: |
the Canadian Red Cross Society is a true reflection of the tremendous Canadian spirit of generosity, caring and selflessness. |
| NOW, |
| THEREFORE: |
I, Mayor David Miller, on behalf of Toronto City Council and the 2.5 million people of our great City, do hereby proclaim March 2004 as "Red Cross Month" and encourage all residents to volunteer their time and support Canadian Red Cross programs in our community, across the world and across the street. |
