Proclamation
"Rouge Park Week"
October 4 - 9, 2004

WHEREAS: Rouge Park is Canada's largest natural environment park and was launched in 1995 to protect, restore and enhance the Rouge River Watershed from the Oak Ridges Moraine to Lake Ontario.
Rouge Park is a special place of outstanding natural features and diverse cultural heritage in an urban-rural setting, and is protected and flourishing as an ecosystem in perpetuity.
The Rouge Park Alliance is committed to protect, restore and enhance the natural, scenic and cultural values of the park and promote public responsibility, understanding, appreciation and enjoyment of this heritage.
TThe Rouge Park Alliance together with member organizations and other groups is hosting a variety of events and activities to celebrate Rouge Park Week.
NOW,
THEREFORE: I, Mayor David Miller on behalf of the residents of Toronto do hereby proclaim October 4 - 9, 2004 as "Rouge Park Week" to recognize the hard work and dedication of everyone involved in the preservation of our fragile watershed lands and the beautification of our City.
