 "Royal Week"
May 17 - 24, 2004
| WHEREAS: |
the Monarchy is an integral and important part of our nation's heritage; and |
| WHEREAS: |
Royal Week is a tribute to Canada's royal heritage, honours the birthday of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and recognizes the importance of the Monarchy to Canada; and |
| WHEREAS: |
during this week The Monarchist League will hold a variety of activities and events to increase awareness of our royal heritage; and |
| WHEREAS: |
in our large and diverse city, we are provided with many opportunities to learn from each other by sharing cultural legacies and celebrating our differences. |
| NOW, |
| THEREFORE: |
I, Mayor David Miller, on behalf of Toronto City Council, do hereby proclaim May 17-24, 2004 as "Royal Week" in the City of Toronto, and encourage everyone to participate in the events and activities that are planned,and learn more about this unique and valuable part of our heritage. |
