Proclamation
"Seniors' Month"

June 1 - 30, 2004

WHEREAS: seniors are the fastest growing sector of our population and Seniors' Month provides us with an opportunity to recognize and celebrate the tremendous contribution they make to the life and vibrancy of our city; and
WHEREAS: seniors are a valuable resource and continue to serve as leaders, mentors, volunteers and important and active members of the community. Their contributions have earned our appreciation and their stories deserve to be told; and
WHEREAS: seniors play an instrumental role in defining our communities and their health and well-being benefits us all and makes for a successful and healthy city.
NOW,
THEREFORE: I, Mayor David Miller, on behalf of Toronto City Council, do hereby proclaim June 1 - 30, 2004 as "Seniors' Month", and encourage all residents to recognize and celebrate the many accomplishments of our seniors and the contribution they make to our city.
