Proclamation
"Take Our Kids to Work Day"
November 3, 2004

WHEREAS: preparing young people for the future is a community responsibility, and “Take Our Kids to Work Day” provides them with an opportunity to experience education beyond the classroom.
“Take Our Kids to Work Day” brings together thousands of Grade 9 Students in Toronto and allows them to experience the world of work for the first time and discover the variety of career options that await them.
The Learning Partnership, a not-for-profit organization of business people, educators and community leaders, sponsors of this successful program is celebrating its tenth anniversary and remains committed to creating challenging learning opportunities for our young people.
NOW,
THEREFORE: I, Mayor David Miller, on behalf of Toronto City Council, do hereby proclaim November 3, 2004 as "Take Our Kids to Work Day" and encourage everyone to welcome these young people into workplaces across the city. I congratulate The Learning Partnership for brining together children, their teachers, parents and employers to make this annual educational experience a day of discovery and development.

[Signed Mayor David Miller]
