Proclamation
"YMCA World Peace Week"
November 20 - 27, 2004

WHEREAS: the YMCA is an exceptional charitable organization that offers opportunities for personal growth through participation and service to the community, and is a leader in enhancing civil society where people within our large and culturally diverse city are respectful and supportive of one another.
Each year during World Peace Week, the YMCA awards the Peace Medallion to individuals and groups who have worked without special resources, to improve and enrich the quality of life for people in our communities and around the world.
I congratulate the YMCA members, staff and volunteers on this great initiative and encourage people of all ages, from different backgrounds and walks of life, to participate in the special events and activities that are planned to celebrate the week.
NOW,
THEREFORE: I, Mayor David Miller on behalf of Toronto City Council, do hereby proclaim November 20 - 27, 2004 as "YMCA World Peace Week" in the City of Toronto.

[Signed Mayor David Miller]
