This unit provides information about Ontario Works (OW) benefits and services offered by Toronto Employment & Social Services as well as answers questions from the public, community agencies, and people receiving OW. In addition, the unit:
- mediates and assists with communication and resolution between people receiving OW and office staff when an issue has not been resolved to the client’s satisfaction at the local office
- handles service and staff conduct compliments, complaints and feedback
- answers questions about OW legislation and procedures
- responds to information requests and offers referrals to government and community resources
- delivers presentations to groups and community agencies about the OW program and services offered by Toronto Employment & Social Services
- handles questions about dental services
- works with Citizenship and Immigration Canada as well as with the provincial Overpayment Recovery Unit on sponsorship default and repayment.
