The Winter Activation Grant Program is now accepting applications. Completed application forms should be submitted via email to biaoffice@toronto.ca by November 30 at 4:30 p.m.

The Winter Activation Grant Program aims to provide funding for BIAs, community groups, not-for-profit organizations and charities to animate their local main streets with winter activity.

Winter after the holiday season is always a slow time for retail and tourism, and this year winter will have additional challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Winter Activation grant aims to support the local economy by celebrating art, culture and community and helping to drive business to our main streets during the coldest months of the year. The grant also aims to advance equity and inclusion, and will benefit citizens, businesses and artists from every part of the city.

Funding is available for 50 per cent of project costs up to a maximum of $12,500 per project. All direct project costs are eligible and should be detailed in the budget summary. Administrative, ongoing staff salary and annual operating expenses are not eligible.

The grant is available to BIAs, community groups, not-for-profit organizations and charities. Eligible projects must comply with all Toronto Public Health and Provincial regulations and all physical distancing protocols to help reduce the spread of COVID-19.
