The City is improving the splash pad in Dentonia Park with the help of community feedback. The new splash will replace the existing splash pad in approximately the same location, near the playground, and is proposed to include play elements that spray water and have water play activities for children ages two to 12.

From August 12 to September 8, an online survey collected community feedback on design options for the new splash pad in English and Bengali. Over 500 surveys were submitted by at least 790 respondents, including members of the same household.
Additional feedback included suggestions to consider adding more seating, using soft or non-slip play surfaces, ensuring there are enough garbage bins, using durable materials, installing signs with a variety of information and adding change rooms.
On August 13, the project team presented and collected feedback on the splash pad design options at a community pop-up event in Dentonia Park. Approximately 90 community members participated in the event.

More than 90 community members participated in the event. Participants were asked to indicate their preferred design option and waterplay features through a dot sticker voting activity. Four members of the project team were present to answer questions and gather feedback.
Additional feedback included suggestions to consider more benches, more garbage cans, movable picnic tables and improved drainage.

Approximately 220 students in Grades 1 to 4 participated in the event. Participants were asked to indicate their preferred design option and waterplay features through a dot sticker voting activity.
