This project will focus only on improvements to the north bake oven. City staff are aware of damage to the south bake oven and are investigating the extent of damage to inform the hiring of a contractor for repairs.

This project has been classified as a Consult project based on the International Association for Public Participation Spectrum. This means we obtain public feedback on the proposed improvements to the north bake oven.
In this phase, the project team will collect feedback from oven users to guide the development of design options in Community Engagement Phase 2.
The anticipated community engagement activities in this phase include the creation of a working group of oven users and a meeting with this group.
From June 26 to July 17, community members could apply to join the project’s Working Group. The Working Group will inform improvements to the north bake oven.
In this phase, the City and its design consultant will build on the outcomes of Community Engagement Phase 1 to propose improvements to the bake oven. The proposed improvements will be shared with the community for feedback, which will inform the preferred improvements plan.
