City of Toronto staff will report on ConsumersNext to Council’s Planning and Growth Management Committee. Staff Reports will address study findings, provide recommendations and seek Council/Committee direction. In addition to the community meetings held as part of ConsumersNext, the public will have opportunities to speak to Planning and Growth Management Committee when staff reports are being considered. All ConsumersNext Staff Reports will be posted here.
This report recommends the preparation of a Secondary Plan for the ConsumersNext study area to achieve a vision of a modern, state of the art business park that is an attractive transit oriented location for employment investment and well connected to a walkable mixed use community along Sheppard Avenue East and Victoria Park Avenue. A number of policy directions, developed through Phases 2 and 3 of ConsumersNext are identified for incorporation into a new planning framework that will manage anticipated growth and improve the area around Sheppard and Victoria Park Avenues.
This phase of the study focused on obtaining an understanding of the study area and yielded a number of key findings on the historic and emerging context of the area.
