In July 2018, Council adopted the Yonge-Eglinton Secondary Plan (OPA 405), which the Province approved in June 2019 with modifications. OPA 405 sets out a 25-year vision with a policy framework to guide intensification and priority infrastructure improvements.
In adopting OPA 405, Council directed City staff to develop an Implementation Strategy to address the provision of infrastructure and facilities in Midtown as it grows and evolves. The Strategy was prepared by an inter-divisional working group led by City Planning, and was adopted by City Council in June of 2022.
