Draft Zoning By-law for Midtown ‘Villages’ Available for Comment

The Midtown Zoning Review is one of the key pillars in the Ready, Set, Midtown initiative to implement the Yonge-Eglinton Secondary Plan (OPA 405). This Review is accompanied by work on a Strategy for providing infrastructure to serve growth, including Public Realm improvements.

In November of 2021, Planning and Housing Committee received a report that outlined objectives and a draft zoning framework for a revised zoning by-law to implement the Yonge-Eglinton Secondary Plan. The report also included a consultation summary of feedback received to date. Since that time we have been continuing to hear from you, and we have drafted the first phase of a zoning by-law for four of the Midtown ‘Villages’: Eglinton Way, Yonge Street North, Mount Pleasant South, and Bayview-Leaside. We endeavour to add the Yonge Street South Village Character area shortly. We encourage you to review this summary document (which includes a map) and the full draft zoning by-law (which included detailed mapping), and let us know if you have any suggestions, comments, or concerns by using the contact information below. Please provide your input as soon as possible, and before March 31 if possible.
