North York Centre is growing rapidly, with new developments, increased public transit use and a rising demand for safe, accessible and well-connected streets.

To support this growth and improve mobility for everyone, the City of Toronto is planning a series of coordinated street improvement projects. These projects will enhance safety, ease congestion and prepare the area for future development.

As part of a City Council-approved plan (2020.IE18.1), the road safety improvements on Hendon Avenue and the extensions of Beecroft Road and Doris Avenue will be completed before construction begins on Yonge Street. Each project will undergo detailed design and public consultation, with phased construction starting in late 2027 and continuing through 2030 and beyond.
