Team Toronto continues to work hard to provide residents with opportunities to get their first, second or third dose of COVID-19 vaccine. Almost 25,000 appointments are available at City-run clinics from today through February 19, including 3,874 appointments for this coming Sunday, January 23, and Monday, January 24.
In addition, this Sunday, Team Toronto will hold Vax The Northwest, a mass vaccination event at York University’s Aviva Centre in Northwest Toronto, focused on vaccinating people from northwest Toronto neighbourhoods which experience lower vaccination rates. The TTC will provide dedicated buses to help people travel from community hubs to the clinic. Appointments for the clinic opened yesterday, and can be booked in the provincial vaccine booking system, by calling 1-833-943-3900 or online .
Team Toronto has now administered third doses of COVID-19 vaccine to more than 1.2 million people. In addition, it has administered a first dose of COVID-19 vaccine to 89.9 per cent of eligible Torontonians age 12 and older. Efforts are also ramping up to provide vaccination opportunities for kids five to 11 years old and their families. In less than two months, approximately 51 per cent of them have received at least one dose, and 14 per cent two doses.
Given the continued spread of the Omicron variant, Toronto Public Health is urging all eligible residents to book a third-dose appointment. Residents who have not yet received their first or second COVID-19 vaccine shot are encouraged to do so as soon as possible. COVID-19 vaccines lower the risk of serious illness, hospitalization and death, while protecting oneself, loved ones and the community.
Today, Team Toronto partners will administer thousands of vaccines at City-run clinics, hospital partner clinics, more than 525 local pharmacies and doctors’ offices, including the following clinic locations:
City-run immunization clinics
The five City-run immunization clinics continue to add new appointments for first, second and third doses of COVID-19 vaccine. To book an appointment, click the blue “Book a Vaccine” button or call 1-833-943-3900. City-run clinics are easily accessible by transit and offer free parking on site. Clinic staff are also able to provide resources in multiple languages. A person with a vaccination appointment can also bring a support person to help with translation.
While City-run clinics and health care partners across the province await further shipments of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine later this month, all City of Toronto-run clinics will administer the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine to residents 30 years of age and older.
People with vaccination appointments are asked to arrive no more than 10 minutes early to vaccination clinics. There will be vaccine doses available for everyone who has an appointment; arriving earlier than necessary does not impact availability. There are no walk-in appointments at City-run vaccination clinics.
