Team Toronto has now administered third doses of COVID-19 vaccine to more than 1.2 million people. This exciting milestone comes exactly one year after opening the first City of Toronto operated proof-of-concept immunization clinic on January 18, 2021.
Team Toronto has also now administered a first dose of COVID-19 vaccine to 89.9 per cent of eligible Torontonians age 12 and older, with 87 per cent already having received two doses, and 51 per cent of eligible children age 5 to 11 receiving their first dose. This work is continuing with Team Toronto delivering first, second and third doses at City-run clinics, mobile clinics, hospital partner clinics and more than 525 local pharmacies and doctors’ offices.
Following a service suspension due to yesterday’s winter storm, City-operated vaccination clinics are returning to normal operations, with more than 5,000 people booked to be vaccinated at the five City-run clinics today.
Given the continued spread of the Omicron variant and ongoing community, Toronto Public Health is urging all eligible residents to book third-dose appointment. Residents who have not yet received their first or second COVID-19 vaccine shot are encouraged to do so as soon as possible. COVID-19 vaccines lower the risk of serious illness, hospitalization and death, while protecting oneself, loved ones and the community.
The following vaccination clinic locations are operating today:
City-run immunization clinics
The five City-run immunization clinics continue to add new appointments for first, second and third doses of COVID-19 vaccine. To book an appointment, click the blue “Book a Vaccine” button or call 1-833-943-3900. City-run clinics are easily accessible by transit and offer free parking on site. Clinic staff are also able to provide resources in multiple languages. A person with a vaccination appointment can also bring a support person to help with translation.
While City-run clinics and health care partners across the province await further shipments of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine later this month, all City of Toronto-run clinics will administer the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine to residents 30 years of age and older.
People with vaccination appointments are asked to arrive no more than 10 minutes early to vaccination clinics. There will be vaccine doses available for everyone who has an appointment; arriving earlier than necessary does not impact availability. There are no walk-in appointments at City-run vaccination clinics. More information on City-operated immunization clinic transportation options and on-site amenities is available on the City’s COVID-19: How to Get Vaccinated webpage
