Starting April 2026, busking is no longer allowed in the area around the Eaton Centre and Sankofa Square (Dundas Square). Learn more about the streets where busking is not allowed.
In April 2026, City Council approved bylaw changes to rules for street vendors and artists.

A busker or sidewalk artist requires a permit to play music or perform for voluntary donations in the street. Examples of buskers include musicians, singers, jugglers and mimes. Any amplified sound is not permitted

Preaching is not a form of a ‘busker’.

This permit does not cover TTC property. For permits on TTC property please contact (416) 393-4000 or ttcfollowup@ttc.ca.
