Fees & Set Out for Businesses

Effective January 1, 2026, the City will no longer offer recycling collection service to any new business customers. Any existing customers prior to this date will continue to have recycling collection provided by the City.
  • Collection frequency is determined by the City.
  • All fees for Garbage Bin subscription service and premium Green Bin organics service must be paid three months in advance.
  • There is no fee for once-a-week organics collection. This is included as part of your collection services.
  • Businesses who receive curbside collection must purchase 95-gallon Garbage Bins and 35-gallon Green Bins (organics).
  • Additional or replacement 95-gallon Blue Bins (recycling) are available to purchase for businesses approved for City collection services prior to January 1, 2026 and who continue to receive recycling collection from the City.
  • To cancel your service, email swmsupport@toronto.ca. A minimum of two weeks’ notice is required.
  • The 2026 fees outlined below were approved by the City Council as part of the 2026 Budget process.

  • Place bags or bins as close to the street as possible and free of obstructions
  • Containers must be clearly visible and accessible
  • Ensure two feet (0.5 metres) between bins
  • Never place items or bins behind or on snow banks

Set out time

Daytime collection: Place items out before 7 a.m.

Nighttime collection: Place items out between 6 and 9 p.m.

Premium Green Bin organics service:

  • 2 times per week – Regularly scheduled collection day + Saturday
  • 5 times per week – Monday to Friday
  • 6 times per week – Monday to Saturday

    Businesses must purchase City of Toronto Garbage Bins or Garbage Tags (available for purchase in the Solid Waste Web Store and Canadian Tire stores located in Toronto) to receive City waste collection.

    Businesses must make their own arrangements for disposal of large furniture, appliances, electronic waste, yard waste and any hazardous waste.
