If the City has not picked up your waste by the end of your scheduled collection day, you can report a missed collection for your house/apartment above a business or for your entire street.
When to Report a Missed Waste Collection
- You live in a house or an apartment above a business.
- You receive waste collection from the City.
- Daytime customers: Waste is collected on your scheduled collection day any time from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Nighttime customers: Waste is collected on your scheduled collection day any time from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. of the following morning.
- You are reporting a missed collection within one business day of the scheduled collection day.
- Your waste was not picked up on your scheduled collection day. Be sure you have set out the correct bins and followed proper waste set out instructions for your bins and any oversized items/e-waste/yard waste. Leave your bins and any other waste set out until the end of your collection time before reporting a missed collection.

How to Submit a Service Request
- Make sure to have the following information with you before submitting a service request:
- Address
- Full name (optional)
- Email address (optional)
- Phone number (optional)
- Submit a service request.
- Leave your bins and/or items at the curbside. For laneway collection, leave your bins and/or items at your usual collection point.
What to Expect
- The investigation into why your bins and/or items were not collected will be addressed within 24 hours (Tuesday to Friday).
- If you have opted out of waste collection services from the City, you will not receive collection for garbage, recycling, organics, household hazardous waste, electronic waste and oversized/metal items pick up. Learn how to opt in for City waste collection services.
- Renovation waste is not collected at the curb. This includes drywall, doors, lumber, counters, vanities, kitchen cabinets, roof shingles, tiles, etc. Take these items to a Drop-Off Depot. Fees will apply.
