9:30 a.m. Mr. Peter Clutterbuck, Co-Director, Community Social Planning Council of Toronto will appear along with other representatives of Community Voices of Support, highlighting the role and function of the voluntary community service sector in the City of Toronto.

8. TRAFFIC POLL RESULTS WITH RESPECT TO

ALTERNATE SIDE OVERNIGHT PERMIT PARKING

ON INWOOD AVENUE BETWEEN MORTIMER AVENUE

AND SAMMON AVENUE.

Advising the results of a traffic poll conducted by the Clerk=s Department, East York Office, with respect to a proposal to implement alternate side overnight permit parking on Inwood Avenue between Mortimer Avenue and Sammon Avenue, and recommending that the report be received for information.

 

9. TOWING FROM PRIVATE PROPERTY.

Requesting appropriate staff to report to the East York Community Council on the feasibility of bringing the Borough of East York Towing By-law into conformity with the policies and by-laws used by the former Cities of North York, Toronto and York.

 

10. AGNES MACPHAIL AWARD.

TO MOVE TO SINGLE MEMBER WARDS FOR THE

NEXT TERM OF COUNCIL.

CONSERVATION ADVISORY COMMITTEE.

14. TIRE SWING LOCATED IN A CITY TREE AT 67 FERRIS ROAD.

 

Acting Commissioner of Parks, Recreation and Operations, East York

(January 28, 1998)

 

Advising of an appeal from Ms. Beverley Neal with respect to a tire swing hanging from a City tree at 67 Ferris Road; and recommending that the East York Community Council deny the appeal by Ms. Beverley Neal, to hang any type of swing from the tree on the road allowance at 67 Ferris Road, East York, to avoid potential liability issues and possible damage to the tree.

 

15. PURCHASE OF PROPERTY ABUTTING 169 HOPEDALE AVENUE.

Requesting input on a real estate matter concerning lands abutting 169 Hopedale Avenue and recommending that:

 

(1) the City of Toronto decline the offer to purchase City owned lands abutting 169 Hopedale Avenue; and

 

(2) the appropriate City Officials be authorized to give effect thereto.

 

16. IMPLEMENTATION OF A DISABLED PARKING SPACE

ON BRYANT AVENUE.

 

(REFERRED TO THE EAST YORK COMMUNITY COUNCIL BY THE CITY COUNCIL FOR FURTHER COMMUNITY CONSULTATION)

Advising that the Transportation Division was in receipt of a letter from Mr. Alec Goydas, 18 Bryant Avenue, dated October 21, 1997, requesting the installation of an on-street disabled parking space adjacent to 18 Bryant Avenue and recommending that:

 

(1) East York By-law No. 34-93, entitled ATo Provide for Disabled Person Parking Permit Holders@ be amended to implement a disabled parking space on the east side of Bryant Avenue, from a point 43.3 metres north of Denton Avenue to a point 49.9 metres north of Denton Avenue;

 

(2) this disabled parking space be removed when Mr. Alec Goydas ceases to reside at 18 Bryant Avenue; and

 

(3) the appropriate City Officials be authorized and directed to take the necessary action to give effect thereto.

 

17. TRAFFIC CONCERNS ON DONEGALL DRIVE.

Advising the results of traffic studies conducted during the temporary installation of turn restrictions onto Donegall Drive and recommending that:

 

(1) East York By-law No. 92-93, entitled ATo regulate traffic on roads in the Borough of East York@ be amended to remove the ANo Right Turn, 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday to Friday@ restriction for east bound motorists on Fleming Crescent at Donegall Drive; and

 

(2) the appropriate City Officials be authorized and directed to take the necessary action to give effect thereto.

 

18. ENFORCEMENT ISSUES IN RELATION TO THE

PARKING PAD LOCATED AT 745 SAMMON AVENUE.

19. TRAFFIC CONTROL ON KING EDWARD AVENUE

AT HOLBORNE AVENUE.

Advising that a letter was received from Councillor Ootes= Office on behalf on an East York resident requesting the replacement of a Yield Sign with a Stop Sign on King Edward Avenue at Holborne Avenue and recommending that:

 

(1) East York By-law No 92-93, entitled ATo regulate traffic on roads in the Borough of East York@ be amended to replace the existing yield sign on King Edward Avenue at Holborne Avenue with a stop sign; and

 

(2) the appropriate City Officials be authorized and directed to take the necessary action to give effect thereto.

 

20. PARKING RESTRICTIONS ON SUTHERLAND DRIVE

ADJACENT TO NORTHLEA PUBLIC SCHOOL.

Advising of modifications to signed parking restrictions on Sutherland Drive adjacent to Northlea Public School and recommending that:

 

(1) East York By-law No. 92-93, entitled ATo regulate traffic on roads in the Borough of East York@ be amended to extend the existing ANo Stopping, 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday to Friday@ restriction on the west side of Sutherland Drive from a point 37 metres south of Broadway Avenue to a point 80 metres north of Donlea Drive;

 

(2) East York By-law No. 92-93 be further amended to extend the existing ANo Stopping, 8:00 a. m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday to Friday@ restriction on the west side of Sutherland Drive from a point 37 metres north of Donlea Drive to a point 52 metres north of Donlea Drive;

 

(3) East York By-law No. 92-93 be further amended to reduce the existing ANo Parking, 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday to Friday@ restriction on the west side of Sutherland Drive from between a point 37 metres and a point 137 metres north of Donlea Drive to between a point 52 metres and a point 80 metres north of Donlea Drive; and

 

(4) the appropriate City Officials be authorized and directed to take the necessary action to give effect thereto.

 

21. PARKING REGULATIONS ADJACENT TO

1348 AND 1350 PAPE AVENUE.

Advising that the resident of 1348 Pape Avenue, has expressed concern with respect to the difficulty of exiting his driveway when vehicles are parked on Pape Avenue, adjacent to his driveway and recommending that:

 

(1) parking be prohibited on the west side of Pape Avenue between a point 180 metres north of O=Connor Drive and a point 205 metres north thereof; and

 

(2) the appropriate by-laws be amended accordingly.

22. PUBLIC MEETING HELD UNDER SECTION 34

OF THE PLANNING ACT WITH RESPECT TO A

ZONING BY-LAW AMENDMENT APPLICATION

SUBMITTED BY CARA OPERATIONS LTD.

REGARDING 7 CURITY AVENUE.

Advising on a Zoning By-law Amendment Application submitted by Cara Operations Ltd. regardng 7 Curity Avenue to permit a restaurant in the Home Depot retail warehouse at this location and recommending that:

 

(1) City Council approve the application submitted by Cara Operations Ltd. to amend Borough of East York Zoning By-law No. 6752 to permit a restaurant with no seating, not exceeding 48 m2 in floor area (93 m2 including floor area devoted to patrons) inside the home improvement retail warehouse at 7 Curity Avenue;

 

(2) City Council authorize the entering into of an agreement between the Owner and the City of Toronto to execute the Agreement concerning garbage and refuse control; and

(3) City Council enact a Zoning By-law Amendment in the form attached to the report of the Commissioner of Development Services.
