 * The City collects revenue from property taxation. In addition, the City of Toronto Act, 2006, provides the authority for the City to implement other taxation measures, such as the recent Municipal Land Transfer Tax, or the Personal Vehicle Ownership Tax.

The City's taxation measures are used to sustain and enhance essential programs and services that are vital for a prosperous Toronto.

2012 Property Assessment Notices
The Municpal Property Assessesment Corporation has begun mailing out the 2012 Property Notices.These notices identify the current value assessment (CVA, or an estimate of the market value of the property) based on a valuation date of January 1, 2012.
