Mayor Miller announces the Toronto Made-for-Mobile Challenge
As part of Mobifest, Canada’s mobile film festival, six new local filmmakers have been chosen to compete for the City of Toronto’s Mobile Film Award with a cash prize of $2,500. The filmmakers were selected by staff and organizers of Toronto’s short film festivals. On October 24 and 25, each filmmaker will participate in this intense filmmaking experience and create a 90-second mobisode using only a cell phone. The public can screen the final films at the 4th annual Mobifest Toronto on November 17 at the Revue Theatre at 7 p.m.

Stats and facts for the year past
Production companies spent $791.412 million filming on location in Toronto in 2007. This is a 7.3% increase in total production spending over the $704.115 million reported in 2006. We have posted the full 2007 stats.
