Every other year, the City of Toronto holds Urban Design Awards to acknowledge the significant contribution that architects, landscape architects, urban designers, artists, design students, and city builders make to the look and livability of our city.
The Awards competition offers the opportunity to receive city-wide recognition from an independent jury of design professionals.
This year saw an impressive 129 submissions containing a variety of built projects, visions and master plans, and student works. A summary of the 2011 entries is now available online.
At a ceremony held at the Palais Royale on September 19, 2011, members of the design and development community came together to celebrate the winners. The jury selected 23 projects for Awards of Excellence and Honourable Mentions. The Jury Report containing the winning projects is available online.
