The City of Toronto Archives offers free curriculum-based education programs for elementary, high school, and post-secondary classes. The Archives also runs sessions for local community groups and others interested in learning more about local history using archival collections.

All programs are 60 to 90 minutes in length and are offered free of charge. Advance booking is required. Contact archivesoutreach@toronto.ca to book or for more information.

Introduce your students to the Archives and the world of primary sources, the workings of Toronto’s municipal government and the range of services offered by the City.

Using primary sources from the Archives, students explore research and civic engagement, Topics can be customized to suit your class, including a module about the First World War

A visit to the Archives is a useful introduction for college and university students, of any discipline, to the world of research. Customized programs are available for your field of study.

Community Groups

Bring your seniors group, social club, ESL class, or neighbourhood organization, to the Archives to learn about the history of Toronto and our collections.
