Bring your seniors group, social club, ESL class, or neighbourhood organization, to the Archives to learn about the history of Toronto and our collections.

Booking Information

  • Free of charge.
  • 90 minutes in length.
  • Available weekdays between 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Minimum group size is 10, maximum is 30.
  • Programs can be adjusted to meet your schedule or special needs.

ESL

Bring your ESL (English as a Second Language) students to the Toronto Archives to learn about the history of the city and help them practice their listening and conversational skills. During their visit, students will:

  • Explore our current exhibition.
  • View our ‘miles of files’ and learn how we store and make available the City’s historic documents.
  • View and discuss photographs and maps of Toronto from the past.
  • Be encouraged to express their thoughts and opinions on topics presented.

 

The Archives does not offer ESL teaching to individuals. Contact the Toronto District School Board for information on Adult ESL programs.

Community groups

Bring your group to the Toronto Archives and discover the world of primary sources. View our Records Centre, get hands-on with archival records and see how your neighbourhood or interests show up in the Archives’ collections.
