The City Planning Division is helping to build Toronto’s future by managing the growth and physical form of the city – how it looks, feels, and moves, and the opportunities it provides in terms of jobs and services to its residents.
City Planning works with stakeholders and other City divisions to set goals and policies for responsible development. It provides support and advice to City Council to help to ensure that Toronto’s growth contributes to the kind of communities and neighbourhoods Torontonians want.
The division also reviews and processes development approval applications from a community planning and an urban design perspective. City Planning staff gather public input and conduct research to develop and review plans, regulations and projects that protect and enhance our urban environment.
