Revenue Services – Customer Service Standards
The Revenue Services Division provides billing, collection, payment processing and account administration services for:
- property tax billings
- utility billings (water/sewer services and solid waste collection)
- payments for parking violations
- Municipal Land Transfer Tax
Account Investigation on Property Tax Account (Telephone Inquiries)
Within five days of inquiry; 80 per cent of the time (time required for duplicate bill requests, review of interest/penalty amounts or fees applied to account).
Refund of Property Tax Credit from Assessment Appeal
120 days, 80 per cent of the time (time required to issue refunds of credits on property tax accounts arising from assessment appeals, measured from the mailing date of the Assessment Review Board decision, or the City’s receipt of finalized minutes of settlement).
Property Tax Rebate Application Processing (Seniors and Disabled Tax Relief Programs)
60 days, 80 per cent of the time (time required to process a rebate for a tax relief program for seniors/disabled programs, measured from the date that completed application – including all required supporting documentation) is received.
Account Investigation on Utility Account (Telephone Inquiries)
Within five days of inquiry; 80 per cent of the time (time required for duplicate bill requests and review fees applied to account).
Parking Violations - Payment and Data Conflict Investigations
15 days, 80 per cent of the time (time required to investigate circumstances surrounding payment inquiries and/or conflicting information on the violation).
