A new 746 m2 park is coming to 100 Broadway Ave., at the northeast corner of Redpath and Broadway Avenue.

  • July 2020 to July 2022: Community engagement and design development
  • August to December 2022: Hire a construction team
  • Fall 2024: Construction starts
  • Summer 2025: Construction complete

Construction for the new park will take place from fall 2024 to summer 2025.

Online Survey

Input on the concept design for the new park was collected in an online survey from March 2 to April 2, 2021.

July 2020

The City provided an analysis of the neighbourhood surrounding the development site to understand the existing amenities near the new park location. Based on this information, it was determined that the following features would be included in the new park:

  • Children’s water play with sculptural elements
  • Inviting and resilient sculptural wood seating
  • Display planting mounds for visual enjoyment and wind mitigation
  • A decorative lighting program
  • A pedestrian path system through the park to improve overall access
  • Widening the sidewalk/bike route along Broadway Avenue

The new park will include:

  • A children’s water play feature

  • Display gardens
  • Seating and picnic areas
  • New tree plantings
