The proposed design for the new park will have clear sightlines to improve safety. The location of lighting features and planting areas will be shown in greater detail in the next step of design process. The proposed design includes three main zones:

  • An ‘Urban Zone’ for gathering that includes various seating options such as games tables and picnic tables with umbrellas
  • A ‘Planting Zone’ which will be formed by small berms with shrub and trees
  • An ‘Active Zone’ which will include either a children’s playground or outdoor fitness equipment

The new park will also include garbage bins, water bottle filler, bicycle racks, and a fence on the west side.

The new park at 840 Dupont St will be about the size of 1.5 basketball courts and will be located on Dupont Street, at the northeast corner of Dupont Street and Ossington Avenue. The park may include:

  • A playground or outdoor fitness equipment
  • Seating areas
  • Walking paths

The park design will evolve through consultation with nearby schools, area residents and the general public in order to design a space that meets the needs of the growing community.
