From January 4 to February 9, 2021, the Province of Ontario prohibits child care centres from providing service to kindergarten and school age children. During this time, Emergency Child Care Services are available for the exclusive use of kindergarten and school age children of essential service workers.

The Government of Ontario announced that child care centres province-wide may reopen with restrictions beginning June 12. Families who are enrolled in licensed child care programs should contact their provider to inquire about dates and plans for reopening.
