Are you passionate about Toronto’s natural environment and want to share that passion with others? Volunteer as a Nature Ambassador! Ambassadors interpret and animate the natural features of the park and its surrounding parkland.

As a volunteer you will:

  • Educate park users on the history and ecology of this unique restoration site
  • Meet new people and improve your communication skills
  • Distribute environmental education materials
  • encourage sustainable use of our sensitive natural areas
  • Attend parks tours to enrich your knowledge
  • Acquire documented volunteer hours (if requested)

Sessions are supervised by City staff. All materials are provided, and no experience is required.

Where and When

  • Don Valley Brick Works Park, which is a showpiece of the City’s efforts in environmental restoration
  • June through September
  • 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • second and fourth Saturdays of the month

An orientation session is provided at the commencement of the program. Volunteers are encouraged to participate in at least four sessions over the season.

Cancellation Policy

A session will be cancelled if there is a greater than 70 per cent chance of thunderstorm or if other hazardous conditions arise.
