Information for Fort York & Liberty Village Residents
The City of Toronto is committed to keeping the residents and businesses of the Liberty Village and Fort York communities informed about the impacts of the FIFA World Cup 2026™ to this area.
Upcoming Community Information Session
Register for and attend the the final online Community Information Session on May 25 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
This session will present finalized plans for the event, including details on transportation, local access and operations during the games. City staff will also share key timelines, confirmed area plans and information on how residents and businesses can stay informed.
Fleet Street Hub Construction
Fleet Street, between Fort York Boulevard and Strachan Avenue, will be closed from Monday, May 18 to the end of July to facilitate the construction and operation of temporary transit infrastructure improvements.
The Fleet Street transit hub will run from Strachan Avenue to Fort York Boulevard and included dedicated queuing and boarding areas to help manage crowds. This is part of ongoing work by the City and TTC to improve transit capacity, accessibility and safety, and plays a key role in moving large numbers of people during the FIFA World Cup 2026™.
Getting Around
The City is implementing a transit-first approach to mobility during the FIFA World Cup 2026 Toronto. During this time, public transit, walking and cycling are the best ways to travel. Vehicle traffic will be significantly limited, especially on match days.
