Memo for His Worship the Mayor:

(1) The G.W.V.A. Poppy Day Committee has asked the City to assist them by placing a streamer on the City Hall as follows:

“Lest We Forget”

G.W.V.A. Poppy Day, November 11th,

Buy a Poppy and Help the Soldier.

A streamer similar to this one was paid for by the City last year. Is it the desire of your Board to do the same again this year?

(2) Last year and previous years since 1918 we have celebrated Armistice Day by the holding of a fitting patriotic ceremony in front of the City Hall, including the erection of a temporary cenotaph and platform from which addresses were delivered. Is it your intention to carry out a similar programme this year>

J.W.S.
