I hereby apply for permission to combine 3 weeks of my 3 week vacation period for 1935 with my full vacation period of 1936, making 6 weeks in all, in order that I may accompany the official pilgrimage under the auspices of the Canadian Legion of the British Empire Service League to witness the unveiling of the Dominion of Canada’s Memorial at Vimy Ridge on or about Dominion Day, 1936.

I was on active service in an actual theatre of war,
Viz., Vimy Ridge and Amiens
126th Battalion & Canadian Engineers
For a period of 2 years and 7 months during the progress of the Great War.
