How to Get to Biidaasige Park
Biidaasige Park phase one opens July 18, 2025. Phase two is still under construction and is expected to be complete in early 2026.
The closest main intersection is Cherry Street and Commissioners Street, on Ookwemin Minising in the Port Lands. Old Fire Hall 30 Community Recreation Centre is located at 39 Commissioners St.
By Foot or Bike
Biidaasige Park is connected to the Martin Goodman Trail, and the Lower Don Trail runs through the park east and south of the river. There is a sidewalk and bike trail along Commissioners Street.
Areas to lock up bicycles and Bike Share stations are available on site.
By Public Transit
Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) bus route 114 Queen’s Quay East stops along Cherry Street and Commissioners Street by the park. Walking south from the 504A (Dundas West Station-Distillery) streetcar loop will take you to the park’s main entrance.
Bus route 72D Pape will run directly to the park on weekends and holidays from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. from July 19 until September 1, 2025. Otherwise, the bus stops nearby at Saulter Street and Commissioners Street.
By Canoe or Kayak
The park features several areas meant for canoe and kayak landings, on both sides of the river. Steps are provided from the river up to the park paths. There is no canoe or kayak storage on site.
Paddling in the east harbour is challenging due to frequent high winds and waves as well as local freighter traffic. The new mouth of the Don River leading into the park is at the Polson Slip. Motorized watercraft are prohibited on the Don River and Keating Channel.
By Ride Share
Visitors using ride share as transportation to and from the park should use 11 Munition St. as the location address. Pick-ups and drop-offs are prohibited on Commissioners Street.
By Car
Parking in the area is limited. There is a small, temporary lot at 11 Munition St. with 120 spaces. There is some on-street parking at certain hours on Old Cherry Street, Villiers Street and Munition Street. Read the signs to avoid ticketing.
