Access free, on-demand sports equipment at up to 50 self-serve stations and select recreation centres across Toronto parks. Play for free with soccer balls, basketballs, volleyballs, bocce balls or table tennis racquets and balls at a park near you. Self-serve stations are provided through the City’s collaboration with Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities and Equip Sport.

The Equip Sport app is free and can be used to locate stations, view equipment availability and to unlock the fun. Stations can be unlocked from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
Equip Sport is monitored in real time. You play a key role by reporting issues through the app, which are instantly sent to local maintenance partners.
These reports are automatically added to the regular maintenance schedule, making sure equipment is inspected, repaired or replaced promptly.

Toronto City Council has approved a one-year pilot. Staff will evaluate the program and report back to Council in early 2027.
Equip Sport station locations were chosen with a minimum of one per city ward. Additional stations were placed in parks selected for accessibility, amenities, and ease of maintenance. All locations were vetted by City staff in consultation with local ward Councillors.
Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities is funding the Equip Sport program. Equip Sport is Jumpstart’s Swiss-based technology provider, working with a local Toronto firm to install and maintain the stations. The sponsors are entirely responsible for funding and maintaining the service.
