Registration for Fall 2021 Virtual Recreation has begun.

The City uses Cisco Webex Meetings for Virtual Recreation programs. Once registered, participants will be sent instructions by email on how to access the program online a few days before the class start date.

You will need:

  • a computer, smartphone or tablet with
    • internet access
    • a camera (optional)
  • access to the email account used for program registration
  • to install Webex on your device

  2. go to Find Programs near the top of the page
  3. select Virtual Recreation under the Program List heading
  4. explore and find your programs
  5. add to cart and follow the onscreen directions

Call the Recreation Call Centre. You will need to provide the following information:

  • Your client number
  • Your family number
  • The virtual recreation program barcode
  • Credit card information (where payment is required)

Virtual Crafty Creations

Explore and use imagination to create basic crafts with items commonly found in a home, through a series of weekly art projects.  Participants will show and share their creations with the instructor and fellow participants at the end of each class.

A caregiver must actively take part in this program.

Virtual Dance – Creative Movement

This course concentrates on the importance of self-expression, flexibility and innovation through the use of dance elements.

Virtual Dance – Hip Hop

Learn introductory level dance instruction for various Hip Hop dance styles and moves weekly.  Participants will combine dance components to complete a dance combination at the end of each class.

Virtual Dance – Line Dance

Learn introductory level dance instruction for various Line dance styles and moves weekly.  Participants will combine dance components to complete a dance combination at the end of each class.

Virtual Making Music with Caregiver

Learn the basics of how sound and music are produced by creating your own instrument and learn about beats and rhythms. A caregiver must actively take part in this program.

Virtual Paint Night Workshops

Explore and use imagination to create weekly art concepts using different painting techniques.  Participants will show and share their creations with the instructor and fellow participants at the end of each class.

Virtual Martial Arts

Learn fundamental martial art skills, simple fighting skills, tactical concepts, and instill confidence in participants to try new skills.

Virtual Martial Arts with Caregiver

Learn fundamental martial art skills, simple fighting skills, tactical concepts, and instill confidence in participants to try new skills.  A caregiver must actively take part in this program.
