You may elect to opt in or out of City collection services. To do this, only the authorized property owner can enroll and must provide authorization, you will need to complete the Opting In/Opting Out of Solid Waste Management Collection form.
Opting Out - Cancelling City Collection services for Single Family - Houses/Apartments above Businesses
If you are renovating or demolishing a home or are traveling and require a decreased level or no solid waste collection for a period of six (6) months or more, you have the following options:
NOTE: Should you choose neither option, you will be charged for the bin we have on file for your address regardless of whether or not waste was set out for collection.

Opting Out - Apartments/Condominium & Non-Residential Customers, please visit the City of Toronto website to opt out of City waste collection service and complete the application form.
Opting In - Apartments/Condominiums & Non-Residential Customers, to re-enroll in City waste collection services, please email Solid Waste Management Services with all pertinent details, such as name, address, and phone number, staff will contact you to discuss or contact 311 to submit a service request for mail-out of an application.
