Automated Speed Enforcement (ASE) penalty orders for violations that occurred before November 14, 2025 remain valid and must be paid by the due date or disputed by the deadline (30 days from the date of issuance). Failure to pay your penalty order will lead to collection procedures, may result in additional late payment fees and could also lead to licence plate denial.

For automated speed enforcement tickets with a violation date on or before January 19, 2025, use Court Case Lookup to pay, dispute or check current status. For penalty orders with violation dates from  January 20, 2025 to November 13, 2025, use the  Administrative Penalty Lookup.

Automated speed enforcement aim was to promote safer driving by reducing speeding in designated community safety zones. Speed cameras detect and capture images of vehicles exceeding the posted speed limit. The registered owner of the vehicle will receive a penalty order regardless of who was driving.

Starting November 14, 2025, the Government of Ontario has officially prohibited the use of Automated Speed Enforcement (ASE) province wide with the passage of Bill 56.
