The City of Toronto recognizes the large number of social, economic and environmental benefits trees provide in an urban setting. The City has implemented by-laws to protect trees on both public and private lands and as a means of protecting and enhancing the City's natural heritage.

For information on increasing the urban forest, portecting trees and tree By-laws, please visit Urban Forestry Services.
