Where do I get a license to operate a business? |
 |
The Municipal Licensing & Standards Division issues licenses and monitors vehicles, businesses and trades to ensure they follow all applicable municipal bylaws. They are located at 850 Coxwell Avenue.

How do I do business with the City of Toronto? |

All City of Toronto call documents (excluding Tenders with blueprint drawings) are available on our Online Call Document System. Please visit our websiteto browse, purchase and download Professional Services, Goods & Services and Construction Services Request for Proposals (RFPs), Request for Quotations (RFQs) and Tenders without blueprint drawings you are interested in. For further information please read the Frequently Asked Questions or contact us.
Call documents are available for pick-up on the 19th floor, West Tower, City Hall. Business hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Where do I get key facts and demographics? |

Statistics Canada, a Federal government agency, gathers statistics by census every five years. The City of Toronto pulls statistics from the census. You can view key facts on Toronto, economic facts, or look at individual Ward profiles. Check updated population and dwelling count statistics from the 2006 Census.

Who do I make a complaint about a business to? |

The provincial Consumer Protection Branch of the Ministry of Small Business & Consumer Services answers telephone inquiries and mediates written complaints between consumers and businesses. Topics covered include collection agencies, credit repair, consumer reporting, loan broker fraud, car repairs, home renovations, door-to-door sales, health clubs, modeling and talent contracts, and condominiums.
