Discovery Walks is a program of self guided walks that link city ravines, parks gardens, beaches and neighbourhoods. Informative signage will help you experience an area's heritage and environment.

Discover Your City by Taking a Walk!

On Discovery Walks you will enjoy nature, learn about local area natural and social history, and during the warmer weather, see the many beautiful floral displays at our feature park sites ... all right here ready for you to discover in the heart of Toronto! At the same time, you will be participating in a healthy exercise - walking! So, come out and feel good about yourself! No matter where you live or work in the city you can enjoy a walk that's not too far away. Walking lets you catch up with friends or share experiences with family so... bring a friend or, better still, bring the whole family! All you have to do is follow the signs!

Discover The Shared Path

The newest Discovery Walks, the Shared Path proceeds through a series of park areas along the banks of the Humber River, south of Dundas Street West to the mouth of the river. Situated throughout the park are 13 picturesque seating areas with interpretative story panels, closest to where sites of occupation or stories have actually happened. All signs are bilingual (English/French), with some stories comprising key words in Seneca, Ojibway and Huron-Wendat illustrating in a small way the diversity among First Nations languages. In all there are approximately 15 km of trails.
