IMPORTANT NOTICE !
TEMPORARY SUSPENSION - PLANTING OF ASH TREES

Please note that Urban Forestry Services is currently NOT accepting requests for the planting of any type of Ash tree due to the threat of invasion by an insect pest known as the ‘Emerald Ash Borer’ (EAB).

This pest has been detected in the City of Toronto. A number of infested trees that are located in the vicinity of Sheppard Avenue East and Highway 404 in North York have been identified. The larvae of the EAB tunnel into the outer stem of Ash trees and feed underneath the bark. The trees ultimately die as a result of the attack.
