A new park is coming to 6 Lloyd Ave., east of Keele Street in the Stockyards District. The City is engaging with the community to help determine the park design.

This project is currently on hold. The development project related to this project continues to be under appeal to the Ontario Land Tribunal.

December 2021

Online Survey

From December 13, 2021 to January 14, 2022, feedback on the proposed design, including visioning for the park, new park features and general amenities, was collected in an online survey. The survey received a total of 70 survey responses, which includes input from 99 participants of various ages.

Overall, 44 per cent of respondents were generally supportive of the features in the proposed design, with 58 per cent of respondents expressing concerns about the lack of green space, including trees and plants. 24 per cent of survey respondents were satisfied overall with the proposed design.

The proposed concept design includes:

  1. An outdoor fitness station, including rope climb, dip station, push up bars, instructional info signage and rubberized surface
  2. An overhead circular trellis with seating opportunities below, including curvy seat walls, café-style tables and games tables
  3. New planting areas including, canopy trees, and shrub planting
  4. Large central feature tree in the plaza area
  5. Accessible seating elements, including benches with backs and arms, and café-style tables/games tables with direct access
  6. Backless concrete benches
  7. Two-metre tall decorative metal fence for privacy from the nearby building to the north and east park limits
  8. A water bottle filling station
  9. A ping pong table
  10. Orange dot: light pole fixtures

Other elements include decorative pavement throughout the park.

As part of a new mixed-use development at 6 Lloyd Ave., a new 868 m2 municipal park will be created at the northeast corner of Mulock Avenue and Lloyd Avenue, directly across from the Keele-Mulock Parkette.

The City is working with the developer and their landscape architect on the design and construction of the new park.

The proposed park will include:

  • An outdoor fitness area
  • Seating areas
  • Shade trees and new planter beds
